About Me

I am a Christian. Theologically, I generally subscribe to the core tenets of the Protestant reformation, so I could accurately be described as a Calvinist. However, I attend an inter-denominational church called "Calvary Chapel", which is unusual, but completely compatible, for someone of my theological "tendencies".
I'm 26 years old, and I have a BS degree in Computer Science with a minor in mathematics. It naturally follows that I am a software developer. I have experience developing for both the Windows and the BSD/Linux environments. I've used many programming languages over the years, including (but not limited to) Clojure, C, C++, C#, Java, Groovy, Perl, Python, Ruby, Erlang, Objective-C, Common LISP, PHP and VB.NET. At the moment, my preferred language is Clojure.
I am married to the most wonderful, most beautiful and most intelligent woman in the world. (Yes, I really am that fortunate.) Her name is Jessi, and she is a brilliant student of the arts and languages. She also loves to knit, and she is incredibly good at it. We also have a beautiful little girl named Edda Rose.
I live in the small town of Greenwood, South Carolina. As of August 2007, we just got our first Starbucks. The closest major highway is an hour's drive away. I work in downtown Greenville, SC.
I love studying and reading about Norse history and culture. Two of my favorite books are the Heimskringla and the Saga of the Jomsvikings.
Politically, I am a "paleoconservative" (what could also be called a "constitutionalist"). I have always loved the ideas and philosophies upon which the United States was founded, and I pine for a return to those things. Individual responsibility, independence and liberty are the only values upon which a successful society can be erected. Dependency, fear and centralized power are unamerican.
